The reason I want to switch from IMAP to POP is that my mailing list rules don’t seem to apply to my IMAP account. Is there an easy way to make them apply?
Oh, sorry , I got that backwards. IMAP to POP should be easy. Just check with your ISP if it's the same server address or another one.
You DID NOT SAY WHICH VERSION of Entourage you're using. MLM rules do not work in Entourage 2001 on IMAP - but you can usually make regular IMAP rules that will work. (Remember that hat mail from mailing lists is really mail TO the mailing list, so your criteria should be "Any Recipient" "contains" "mailingList@address".)
IMAP is so much better than POP tat it would be a shame to give it up for this. When you upgrade to Entourage X, you'll find that MLM and IMAP work fine there. Lots of IMAP support has been improved in EvX - many different ways.
