I have never been able to get the Palm USB/serial connect to work through the Apple keyboard. It used to work through my powered hub but just recently I have only been able to get it work by directly plugging it into the Mac. I also have to unplug/replug it frequently (usually after sleep or running Classic). There is a note in the Palm online KB about having to do this.
