Not because of a bad concept, but because Apple put total morons in charge of the service. I was going to bring the nascent eWorld service roughly 30,000 users by switching our corporate communication system to it (we were looking to get away from cc:Mail), and the two reps Apple sent down (product manager, and technical manager) were simply a catastrophe during the meeting. Incredible incompetence - we knew right then that they would fail within less than a year. They did.
