Turn off preview pane. Select the message and delete it. Empty Deleted Items
Folder (or do the same thing there if you have problems). Or if it's IMAP
quit Entourage to purge message.

If this is POP, If you don't have Online Access, go to
Tools/Accounts/account/Options and turn it on. Go to the server. If you want
to experiment, see i the message is there (it may have been partially
downloaded but the whole original may still be there.) You can turn off
preview pane and see if the message downloads OK to the cache (you'll see
it). If so, and it's an important message, try Send & Receive All, and hope
for better luck. If it's not important or if you can't view it without
crashing or freezing, go back , turn off preview pane, select the message,
click Delete to mark it for deletion, and do Send & Receive to delete the
message from the server
