Dan, there's been a bit of discussion about signatures in recent days; did
you miss it? (Try the archives.)

The gist of it is that (1) if you edit the sig (even the blank line) at all,
the old sig won't be replaced and the new sig will go in at the cursor
location; (2) Supposedly if you don't edit the new sig will go at the end,
replacing the old if any, but some report that it does not always work that
way. IOW, it's erratic and needs to be fixed. And yes, it changed behavior
with SR1.
