There is a workaround, of sorts. Set up an Outgoing Rule that redirects (copies) of sent messages to yourself. (You might want to include a criterion to exclude messages sent to yourself so you don�t get into an infinite loop.) The redirected message is not automatically sent; it's just put into the Outbox, so if it's a message you don't need a copy of, you can delete it. Otherwise, before terminating your connection, just 'send all' to have the messages sent to you. Of course, if you're still at your 'remote' location the next time you retrieve email you'll get those messages, but you indicated that you leave them on the server when you're away, so they'd still be available when you get home.
