Any idea > how to prevent this? The type size of ANY message sent in HTML will look much larger on a Windows computer then on a Mac because their screen resolution is larger than ours for the same type sizes. (I.e., printed it will look the same, but on screen it's much larger.) Similarly any message sent in formatted text which specifies the type size from someone on Windows will look tiny on a Mac. The only reason why the Yahoo group messages sent in HTML also look large to us is because they come back in "complex HTML" with graphics added by Yahoo. Complex HTML is viewed in Entourage and Outlook Express Mac with the aid of Internet Explorer (IE's HTML rendering engine is used), and IE Mac's resolution is purposely set by default to the same resolution as on Windows so that we all see the same thing. Therefore we get to see what Windows users see for ALL our HTML. Thus your wife has to decide: if she's sending out a message just to one person, and she knows that that person is on Windows (or has a Yahoo account viewed on the web), she can be considerate of them by setting he message size to "smaller", which will look to tiny to her. If she is sending message to a group or list, if it's not a Macintosh-oriented group like this mailing list, chances are that 90+% of her readers will be using Windows so she should do the same thing. The 10% of her readers who are on Mac will see the message as tiny like she does, but then we're all used to getting tiny type from Windows users, aren't we? Most of us are more dept at coping by clicking the type size buttons we have, and not complaining. So, unless she knows that her single recipient is on a Mac, she should send the message in "Smaller". She can type it all in Medium if she wishes, select all (cmd-A), then change to Smaller. For viewing her own Sent messages afterwards, she can always click the "A" button to make the size larger. Or - since the whole idea of sending formatted text is to make things look better, not worse - she can use plain text which everyone will see at the size they have determined is best for them.
