I have just done so, but now I must wait upon the arrival of a relevant message to test it. I do feel that this will be the solution and I apologize if I have jumped the gun a bit, but I wanted to be polite and respond to questions. I also expect this solution to be helpful for similar situations I have encountered with DragThing induced scripts, which may have been part of my hidden agenda.
> What is the nature of the sound you are playing? And where is it actually > stored? The sound is stored within my Microsoft Office X folder, along with Entourage. I've forgotten precisely why that it so, but I do recall that it seemed to be necessary at the time I was setting all this up. It is an Amadeus sound document, Amadeus being the audio editing program which I used to convert it to an .aiff as I recall so that it could be used in OS X. I am surprised now that I look at it that there is no identifying suffix on it. As must be obvious, I don't really comprehend what I do in Applescript; I tend to collect scripts from others & bang them together until they do what I want. Thus it is often hard for me to explain or justify the scripts I am using. I can be quite accomplished in other areas, however, he said modestly. -- Thomas S.
