There will be times where the dock icon changes to let me know that I have received email, but when I switch to Entourage to read the mail I find that there isn't any to read. I can only assume that this is caused by one of the junk mail handlers, either Entourage's built-in JMF or my own junk-filing rules.
My suggestion to the developers is to only display the "you have new mail" indicator in the dock when: * new mail has been received, * all rules have run, and * there is *unread* mail received since the last send/receive schedule was executed. I'm not sure if the above criteria is the best way to deliver what I want (it's probably not), so I'll try to reiterate what I want. If new mail is received and is marked as read and as Junk by Entourage's JMF or my own spam filtering rules, the "new mail" dock indicator should not appear. Only when arriving mail is not automatically classified as junk should the new mail dock indicator appear. Would this be possible in a future release?'
