Two parts to your question. To clean out duplicate contacts, you can use my scripts (see web URL below): Duplicates Report and Merge Contacts. The former produces a report of all duplicates, and also (optionally) flags them with a category "Duplicate" in the address book. You then must manually select the duplicates and delete them. The second script allows you to merge info from two contact records into one; this is for the case where you have two different versions of your contact list.
Second part is the location of Entourage data. You appear to have been looking in the right place, the MUD folder. However, you may have more than one such folder. Entourage by default uses the MUD folder in "~/Documents/", where "~" represents your "Home" directory. Use the Go menu in Finder to go to the home directory; then select Documents, then Microsoft User Data. There, you should find a folder called "Office X Identities", and in that, your Entourage identity folder (probably "Main Identity" unless you have more than one), and in that will be your data files.
