The reason it will not be added is that it will add too much complexity should there be more devices to sync to, which will be the case soon. The problem with the current implementation is that you may only specify one category to sync or not sync. If this could be made a list of categories, then in most cases there would not be a need to make an artificial sync category.

It won't be added/. Forget about it. Give all those contacts your "No Sync" category (as a subsidiary, non-primary category if it has others) and choose "No Sync" as your category NOT to sync. That does exactly the same thing, plus allows more flexibility.
