Disabled Entourage conduit, enabled palm conduits, logged out then back in, attempted synch to PD4 -- no joy. For every conduit the log says "could not open the Palm Desktop file �User Data� because another application is using it. Try closing any open dialog boxes in Palm Desktop or Instant Palm Desktop." Install and backup worked OK. Can't imagine what application could be "using User Data."
