Weird. I found that my first three steps for starting aren't necessary. Even if I leave the calendar active when I quit, upon re-launching Entourage, if I select a Custom View and then the Calendar, it does the same Thing (it takes a second - you see the calendar for a second and it then becomes "On My Computer").
I tried running Entourage in a different Entourage identity and even a different OS user, yet I still saw the same behavior. Let us know if it works for anyone else or if you learn anything new.
