Hi all,

Obscure question for you. :)

My girlfriend has recently accidentally hit Command-Return several times in
the middle of editing messages -- which causes Entourage v.X to "Send Now"!
Since she's on a LAN, the message zips away and that's the end of it.
Bummer for an incomplete message!

In looking for a way to disable this shortcut key, I hit upon a few
possibilities:

1. Turn on spellchecking before message sending. This sort of works, but
not if she spelled everything correctly. :) Also it's a hassle in general.

2. Tell her to always start new messages with no one in the To field, or no
subject, or some such. This would work, but it requires a big behavior
change.

3. Create a compiled Script Menu Item (the script would do nothing, or
maybe "beep") and assign it the Command-Return shortcut key. I think this
is really the way to do it, but here's my problem: when I go to type the
shortcut key (within the name of the Script Menu Item in the Finder), how do
I type a Return character? I've tried cutting and pasting in \r's and \n's
from BBEdit, but no luck. I can get things like Command-V and Command-X, so
I know I can override existing shortcut keys...but how do I get that Return
character in there?

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance!
