Title: Re: Hotsyncing takes very long time
I suspect the problem is mainly with your contacts. That is a lot to sync; do you really need them all on your Visor?

What I would suggest is trying to sync with fewer contacts. In the conduit manager, you can click on the configure button and select the option to sync only a certain category. Pick a category of contacts with at most 200 contacts as an experiment, and try syncing with just that. I have about 1600 contacts in Entourage, but only 220 in my handheld. Most of the Entourage contacts are email only, and I don’t need them in my PDA. So I set up a “Sync” category in Entourage, which I assigned to the contacts I want to sync. When I add a new contact I have to remember to add the Sync category if I want it in my PDA. You could do the reverse: set up a “NoSync” category, and set the conduit to sync everything <except> that category. Then assign it to everyone, and deassign just the ones you want to sync. That way, when you add a new contact, it will sync by default; you would have to add the NoSync category to prevent its being synced.

But, try it with fewer contacts. Or even, do a run with contact syncing turned off, and see how that goes.

I don't sync with anything else than my Mac.  Anyone else have any ideas?

I found the same thing with a smaller number of entries. Do you sync
somewhere other than your Mac? I sync with both Mac and PC (an obscure
way to get my appointments from Outlook to Entourage). This seems to
force a slow sync on both platforms.
