I wonder if there isn't some confusion here between Office updates and OS
updates.

OS X 10.2.3 was a significant update to the core OS that also brought
improvements to several Apple Apps. OS X 10.2.4 is more of the same, and I
have found the performance of the Finder and Disk Copy much improved since
installing it, but I can't say that I've noticed a similar boost for
Entourage.

Office went through a slew of patches and security updates leading up to
version 10.1.1. These were all rolled together in the 10.1.2 update (for
users who'd experienced problems with the piecemeal approach), then foreign
language support and nothing else was added by the 10.1.3 update.

So if you're running Entourage as part of Office on Jaguar, and ain't one of
them johnny forriner types, OS X 10.2.4 with Office 10.1.2 is as up-to-date
as you can get.

Apple released two 10.2.4 updaters - the combo you mention, which updates
any 10.2+ installation, and a smaller version for people already running
10.2.3. If you're still scrabbling around in the dark age with 10.2.2, then
you'll need the combo.

The combo update is well worth having around, IMHO, ready for that fateful
day when you need to re-install Jaguar from scratch. Of course, that's easy
to say when one has a fast cable connection to the internet over which to
download it, and it was just a squib compared to those 300MB+ dev tools
updates - but it is a bit of a beast for a 56k modem. If that's your
situation, maybe you could find someone with a fast connection who'd be
willing to download it and slap it onto a CD or zip disk for you...

Mr Tea
