How many are you trying to drag at a time? Not the whole collection, I hope; there have been a number of problems reported with dragging and dropping hundreds of items at a time in OS X. What happens if you just drag in 5 or 10 contacts at a time? Does that work? It always has for me, and I'm using the same versions of Entourage and OS X as you are. Earlier limits for reliable dragging were placed at around 200; does that work?
