I've been following this thread in the hope that it would solve a problem I
had recently, but since it didn't, I guess I'll ask directly :-). Someone
sent me a file with a .pct extension and I was unable to open it. I tried
selecting it and clicking on Open - nothing happened. I tried saving it and
then going to Preview and trying to open it - it was grey in the list of
files. I tried trying to insert it in a Word doc as an image - it was grey
in the list of files. I finally gave up and got the information another way.
But now it sounds as if I should have been able to open it in Preview. So
what do I need to fix?

Just to check, I went to Internet Explorer and looked at its list of file
helpers and it seemed to be pointing .pct at QuickTime. Does that make
sense?
