Was there a space at the end of the filename making the extension ".pct "?
Perhaps you need to associate the .pct extension to Preview? Take any file
(it doesn't really matter what kind of file) and rename it with a ".pct"
file extension. Now do a "Get Info" on it in the Finder and in the "Open
With:" section select Preview and click on the "Change All..." button. Then
you can rename the file back to what it was.

But what File Type is it being associated with? Try editing both .pct
entries so that the "File type" is "PICT".
