In OS X is there a command "exists" used to determine if a file or folder is present?
Eg. exists file filename I read this in Applescript in a Nutshell in the ch on OS 9, implying that everything in OS 9 is available in OS X. When I try to use it, I get an error message "file X of script doesn't understand the 'exists' messsage" If it is a 'scripting addition' how do I insure it is present? I'm trying to learn scripting by creating a routine to move Palm Synch conduits around so I can switch between Entourage, Palm and Queue Synch. TIA!
