It’s great that EvX is so customizable! We each have developed our own workflow, if you will, to suit our individual styles. Personally, I like your notion of filing incoming mail, then using custom views to access it. My approach is to use very few folders in combination with categories, sorting, and searching to find the message(s) I’m after, and that seems to work well for me. When I open a folder I see a chronological list of the messages. I can click on a message from a particular person, then sort by sender to see all that person’s messages grouped together. Or I can narrow the folder contents by category, then sort by sender. I’m sure others have good approaches as well.
The bottom line, for me anyway, is that I prefer to keep my folder-count low, and use other Entourage tools to locate messages. I look forward to reading others’ approaches, and the direction you decide to take.
Enjoy!

I am running Entourage X and my intention is to get down to a lean database because my current one no longer fits on a single backup CD. I have 2233 contacts and well over 500 folders (which I discovered when I went over the limit of eMA). So now I’m trying to get organised so I can make the archiving work.
