There's no "problem". You just have to learn how to do it. As Barry said,
it's all in the Word Help under "Data Merge". Did you check that after
reading Barry's answer?
In Word X, go to Tools/Data Merge Manager. Go through the whole palette.
"Create --> Mailing Labels" will allow you to choose the mailing label you
want. Use the "Office Address Book" as your data Source when you get to that
button. Do all the formatting you want with "Fields". At the bottom, press
the "Query" button. (This is non-functional in Word 2001, but fully
operational in Word X, which is why Barry asked.) That allows you to select
contacts from the Office Address Book by Category, and/or by individual
selection or de-selection. It's useful, if you're going to be repeating this
many times, to have assigned the contacts you need a particular category
back in Entourage, since it's simpler to select by category. Then you can
Merge to a file (which allows you to save it for future use) and print
there, or directly Print.
If you have some other reason for wanting to export selected contacts to a
text file (also can be opened in excel), you can get my shareware scripts
Export-Import Entourage X from
Macsripter.net <http://macscripter.net/scriptbuilders/>
It too allows export by category, by selection, by flagged, etc. And
there's a lot else you can export too: groups, calendar, tasks, signatures,
etc. Probably not of interest at the moment.

Paul,
Thank you so very much!!!!!!!!!! That did it. It was all about using the "Query" button. Period. Thats exactly what I was asking for. All I wanted to do was print mailing labels from specific contacts from Entourage/the address book.
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
