Why not set a schedule to download every 5 minutes? That way the interruptions might not even be long enough to notice. It's what I do on a DSL line. I agree, though, that the interruptions while processing incoming mail can be annoying and needs improvement. I find that most of the delay comes from my setup with large numbers of mail rules and a number of them that run scripts or pass off mail to SpamSieve; the latter, especially, seems to suck CPU cycles. But I find the added spam filtering to be worth the aggravation. When I have tried eliminating unneeded rules or consolidating several similar ones, it has helped somewhat. For instance, I used to have a bunch of rules that filtered mail from particular individuals into a "Friends" folder and another set that filtered into a "Family" folder. Instead, I created categories for friends and family, assigned the category to all those people in my address book, and set up a single rule that filters on "Sender is in category 'Friends'". -- Microsoft MVP for Entourage/OE/Word (MVPs are volunteers) Allen Watson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Entourage FAQ site: <http://www.entourage.mvps.org/> AppleScripts for Outlook Express and Entourage: <http://members.thinkaccess.net/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/Scripts/> Entourage Help Pages: <http://www.entourage.mvps.org/> -- To unsubscribe: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> archives: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.letterrip.com/> old-archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.boingo.com/>
