Hi Scott,

I'm still in Entourage 2001 and I see what you mean although I don't use
this feature.  But can't you do it like this in Entourage X (it involves a
couple extra steps, but nothing too demanding, and achieves the same thing)?

Click the top message as before.  Hold down the Shift button.  Start
scrolling with the down arrow as before.  When you get to a message you want
to read, press the Command button and click on it to unselect it.  The
messages you scrolled past will still be selected.  Do a Cmd>T.  Read the
message.  Start again.  When you're done everything will be marked as read.

I can't test this in Entourage X, but try it.  I can't see why it wouldn't
work and I'm sure you could get used to it very quickly.
