I'm not saying it isn't. I'm saying that simply running E'rage X is not
enough to kill your IE settings. If it was, then it would be far more
endemic than it is. But without detailed system config reports from users
who hit this problem, then it's just guessing at what the triggering
mechanism is.

I know that I run a very clean config, The only login items I have are four
hardware drivers:

Powermate driver
MS Keyboard helper
Transport Monitor (Palm Sync)
MouseWorks Background

And one software item:

MS Database daemon.

I've got some custom filesystem kext's such as OpenAFS, Thursby's, and PGP.

I ran very clean in OS 9, so I never had a crash in E'rage that did my
database, and that's with IMAP accounts running over 4GB of mail on the
servers.

It's not that the answer isn't there, its that the answer is not that
simple. If it were, you could spot it and fix it lickety split.
