That's what I don't get. How there can be application activity while the computer is sleeping. But, I do have some news about my situation. Turns out Internet Connect keeps a log. I checked it, and the connection errors were from the BlueTooth modem... Which is never powered on, nor any settings entered. Bizarre. Since Entourage X uses ethernet, not bluetooth, it's not Entourage.
