This sounds as if it has to do with windows not updating correctly. I
vaguely recall seeing something like that at one time, but can't recall the
exact cause. One thing I've seen that can cause something like that is a
"stuck" AppleScript; is it possible you have a rule somewhere that invokes a
script that, for some reason, isn't completing? Try (temporarily) turning
off all your rules (including MLM). One clue to investigate: If you quit and
relaunch, is the problem present immediately (before any other action)? Or
does it only show up after a certain period of time?

Likewise: Try starting up your Mac with no other apps running (suppress
Login Items with shift key; I assume you know how! ;-)), and run just
Entourage. See if the problem is there.

IOW, I'm suspecting some kind of synergistic interaction here.
