In my excitement after installing OS X and Office VX, I may have been premature in my conclusion that all had gone well.
Except for the error beeps and QuickTime Audio, there are no sounds in OS X. No audible indications for launching programs, scrolling, opening and closing windows. These were part of OS 9 called Platinum Sounds. Are they simply missing in OS X? Sorry if this is a bit off topic.
