I went back and looked and, yes, I have been experiencing it since Nov 2002. I normally have my mailing list folders set to threaded and unread only, so I missed the digests since they were marked as read after being burst. The individual messages were also in the folder as unread, so I was just fat, dumb, and happy. Word-Mac is the only mailing list that I receive by digest, so I also could not tell if it was unique to that list or a universal problem.
November of last year is probably when I loaded OS X as I went straight to Jaguar and am now on 10.2.6 and it is still happening. Now we know the cause, when do we expect a fix.
