Hello Paul (using Ent X)

Your trick would work. Yet it requires a number of extra steps. I wonder if
there is yet another way. Would it be possible to create a script (I would
be happy to pay someone to do it) that, when I clicked on the "complete" box
on a task, would automatically change the task date to "today"? That would
solve my criteria of being able to looked at an organized list of tasks
completed today. Or a script that, when I clicked "Complete", would automate
the steps you suggest ("as soon as you have completed a task, immediately
make a duplicate and delete the original. Now whenever you choose "All
Completed" tasks as the option for the script, the pure unsorted order will
in fact be the order of completion (namely, the order of "creation" of these
duplicates)"

Also, I've never known how to properly and easily reply to a message from
the Entourage Users Group. I always copy the message, create a new email
addressed to Entourage, then paste the message, then add my reply. There
must be a more efficient way. Please inform. Thanks.

Richard

Subject: Re: Print Task List AppleScript

Ooh, that's a tough one. Unfortunately, the current version of Entourage
does not have a 'modification date' or 'last modified' AppleScript property.
It's something I have previously requested, and have hopes that it may make
it into a later release. So there's no way for AppleScript to even know what
that order might be.

However, I think there's a trick that should work. If you want to include
old, already completed tasks then start by going through your present
completed tasks, one by one, in that very order of completion as you best
recall:

Make a duplicate of the task (command-D), and delete the original. In
future, always do the same - as soon as you have completed a task,
immediately make a duplicate and delete the original.

Now whenever you choose "All Completed" tasks as the option for the script,
the pure unsorted order will in fact be the order of completion (namely, the
order of "creation" of these duplicates). I don't recall if it's even
possible to choose no order at all for the script but maybe that's something
I could add.

If this is something you just want to start doing now, without going over
the older already-completed tasks, then give the new duplicated tasks that
you are interested in an extra category , e.g. "Duplicated", and choose only
Completed tasks of that category.

I'll have to check to see if there's any tweak needed to get tasks in "no
order".
