There are several things that may be stopping you from sending mail
1. You may be using a from address that is not in the domain of the server.
(not sure about this)
2. You have not checked for new mail.
3. You are accessing the server from outside your ISP.

The message mentions authentication. You can turn on authentication for the
SMTP server in your account settings by clicking on the advanced sending
settings button. This would probably stop you from receiving this message.
