Importing from Address Book

I'm new to this list, and hope someone can give me some help with 
importing data.  I'm maxed out at Mac OS 9.1 with Entourage 9.0.4 
(4011).

I've been using the orphaned Address Book* v4.2.6.3, for 14 years, 
and now have close to 1000 records. Entourage has a lot more fields 
than Address Book, so when I tried to import the data, it was not 
consistent into which field in Entourage that data ended up.  If I 
fixed one record,  then data in other records would get out of place. 
It was a mess, so I restored the Entourage file to the way it was 
before the import attempt.

The only thing I can think of is to go back into Address Book, and 
adjust each record to make sure that the street address, city name 
etc., are on identical lines for all records.  Does anyone have a 
better idea?
