Title: Re: Twenty-One Seconds (PBG4-OS9.2.2-Office 2001)
Thank you for the suggestions, ladies! Based on Diane’s comments, it would appear to be a database problem. I created another identity, set up an entry in the address book, clicked on NEW (email) and – BINGO – instant blank email. (I am assuming that the fact that my main DB has 2,500 entries and the test DB only has one is not a performance factor to be considered.)

Responding to Beth’s comment, I do not currently experience any delays in sorting on the “default” columns – such as Name, Company, Phone, Email. Also, using Command-2 instantly brings up the AB window. Sorting does seem a little sluggish on the Flagged column and it has always (even before the current issue arose) been slow to sort if I modify the column display to add some of the custom fields and then sort on them.

So, assuming Diane’s assessment, how do I fix Entourage to eliminate this problem?

Many thanks!
Robert

To test your OS install, Switch Users in Entourage and see if the problems
exist there. If they do, it's your OS install. If it goes away you know it's
your Entourage database.

Any chance this is the problem that's tied to which Column you're sorting on
in the Address Book?  Just in case, open the AB and click on one of the
default sort fields, Name for instance.
