I think the real question boils down to: When I buy a Cobalt-based Palm
device in the future, will there be any built-in synchronization
infrastructure for Macs developed and delivered by Palm? Or we will be
depending on a 3rd party to provide the entire synchronization
infrastructure?

Time will tell.
