That *is* paranoid! I was just thinking yesterday how lucky I've been. My
database started life as OE 4.0, then became 4.5, 5.0, and now Entourage,
all with only occasional backups and rebuilds.
I wish you could backup the database while Entourage was running -- my
Entourage is *always* running.
That said, I wouldn't mind seeing your backup script too. What's it in?
Applescript? Perl?
