Can you elaborate on what you mean by Entourage > Scripts? It seems to me that Mark is hoping that someone will create a scripting language similar to FileMaker Pro's just for Entourage, and just for him. The odd thing is that he seems to think that somehow whoever created such a system would know exactly what he wants. What if it wasn't? I suppose he's hoping it would be easier for him to learn than AppleScript. What if it isn't? What if it's harder? There are many people who already know AppleScript syntax - it's a universal language on the Mac. It takes such a people just a few minutes to get started scripting Entourage. AppleScript also has the advantages of being able to combine commands to other applications - such as the Finder - into the same script. Perhaps Mark is restricted at the moment to using scripts that other people have written and published and would prefer to write his own. It's true that learning the first steps of AppleScript - knowing what syntax will work and what won't - can't be learned in a day. But it can be learned in a few days, at least enough to get started. As others have asked - what's an example of what you'd like to do, Mark? It can almost certainly be done in AppleScript. You speak of wanting to "ditch" some AppleScripts you already have. Why? Perhaps you can just edit them in Script Editor to do exactly what you'd want. Editing existing scripts is a good way to begin learning. -- Paul Berkowitz MVP Entourage Entourage FAQ Page: <http://www.entourage.mvps.org/toc.html> AppleScripts for Entourage: <http://macscripter.net/scriptbuilders/> PLEASE always state which version of Entourage you are using - **2004**, X or 2001. It's often impossible to answer your questions otherwise. -- To unsubscribe: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> archives: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.letterrip.com/> old-archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.boingo.com/>
