Title: Cleanest way to avoid problems with Entourage 2004?
I'm excitedly awaiting my fresh copy of Office 2004, which should arrive from Amazon today or tomorrow.

After reading some of the recent posts, and from my own experience in major upgrades, I'm thinking that, for the best glitch-free install, I should start clean.

By clean, here's what I'm thinking of doing, and I'd love to hear what others suggest:

1. Run the following Paul's "Export-Import Entourage" scripts:
  •    Export Contacts, Calendar, Messages, Foldrs, Accounts, Categories, and Signatures (I have no Notes, or Tasks)

2. Take screen shots of each of my Rules (I only have 5) for later remaking them in E2004

3. Remove the MUD folder from its Doc location (put it on the desktop for now).

4. Install Office 2004.

5. Drag all my apple scripts from old MUD to newly created MUD.

6. Open Entourage, and run the Import scripts associated with the above Export ones.

7. Recreate my 5 Rules from the screenshots.

What do you think? Will the above work?

Perhaps I’m overly cautious, but a corrupted Entourage lies up there with automobile accidents and home fires. I like the idea of using this major upgrade to start all sparkly clean again.
