Well, no - actually I didn't try it, 'cause that "saving yes/no /ask" was so
clearly intended for regular content creation apps whose documents might
need to be saved (or not). Entourage is not that sort of app, at least for
this purpose.

And with my regular schedule set to check e-mail every minute, the chance of
there being a network connection active at any particular point in time is
relatively small.

I suppose I might try to figure out if there's a timeout on that dialog, or
other method to determine if there's an active connection, or go with your
UNIXish 'kill -pid' method.

The intended goal is a set of cron tasks that will (in the middle of the
night):
1) quit Entourage and the Database Daemon (with appropriate
error/contingency handling)
B) back up the MUD folder
III) re-launch Entourage
