I tried both of these at least twice each but it didn't help. > The fact that the Rebuilds (even Typical?) did > not complain that it couldn't complete the rebuild seems to indicate that > this may not be corruption. Yes, I did Typical first, then Advanced. Neither complained, yet the problem still persists. When I tried Beth's suggestion of creating a new identity, then using the exact same rule (If From is not in address book, change status junk mail) on one of the offending emails, it worked fine in the new identity even when I selected "Apply All" rules. > You say: > >> Recently, some of the spam I get is not being flagged by either the junk >> mail filter (on highest setting) or my spam rule. I just misremembered the rule wording in that paragraph. > I think it may be just your Rules file which is corrupt if it's not moving > the message to the folder as per the next action. Oddly, it moves most spam emails, but does nothing on some -- doesn't even change the status. I now have the rule simply change status to junk mail only when From is not in address book. The rule still does not work on some emails as they come in, or when I select "Apply All" rules, but if I apply just that rule alone to the spam message, it works. >> I have one other rule, which categorizes mail above a certain size as not >> spam and plays a sound (I regularly get large files for work). Maybe, but I've recreated it, deleted it, moved it, cursed at it...nothing helped. > It's always possible there's something wrong with the MLM, I guess. I'm not sure what you mean by "extra entries," but I combed through it and got rid of all old lists, deleted a bunch of them and remade them with fresh posts, even turned all of them off for a while. Didn't help. > "Export-Import Entourage X" from MacScripter.net > <http://macscripter.net/scriptbuilders/> will transfer everything except > rules, schedules and links to a new identity and will be corruption-free. Thanks. I guess there's no way to do this and retain links, huh? That's gonna hurt me.
