Sorry, Tamer, I'm still failing to understand. There are no mail files in
Entourage. can you think of the correct name for what you mean?

When Entourage "checks" mail, it simply checks the server (your mailbox) and
downloads a copy to your local cache - to the INBOX. If you have IMAP rules
or MLM rules on that account, it then moves messages to the designated
folders - including on the server.

Now, it can also check all IMAP folders for unread messages (for the unread
count) and can also check continually to keep you in sync with the server.
Is that what you mean - IMAP mail _folders_ ? These functions are controlled
in Tools/Accounts/Mail/[that account]/Options. You probably want to TURN OFF
"Live Sync" - that can slow things down under some circumstances. The option
at the bottom to "Check for unread messages in subscribed folders" does not
usually slow things down appreciably, but you can try turning that off too
and see if it helps.

PLEASE always state which version of Entourage you are using - 2001 or X.
It's often impossible to answer your questions otherwise.
