SO, was this MacBU person a developer, a marketing executive or some other
specialist?

It seems to me that is they are very familiar with all the features of the
suite they are more on the technical side than the marketing side, and so
may be less knowledgeable about what versions may or may not be available.

I know no more no no less than any other person, but I would be surprised if
a marketing exec would give a categorical 'no' to a question like that - and
they are the only ones who would know the real answer (or, today's real
answer, which is not always the same thing as tomorrows real answer). They
are more likely to give an answer like "no plans at present, but market
demands are continually under review..."
