An earlier discussion on customizing the location of the MUD folder made me wonder about using aliases to enable the using of the same MUD folder on two different computers. Here is my idea.
Goal; Use the same Entourage database on two different computers. Complete with rules, read/unread status and folder hierarchy. Thereby allowing an individual to use two or more machines without worrying about keeping their e-mail straight. (I am thinking about the home environment. So for this discussion IMAP is unavailable, POP only.) Method; Move a users database to a central location that can be reached by all computers. Create an alias of that MUD and place it in the users home/documents folder for each machine that the user has an account. What do you think? Will it work? Is there a hidden flaw that will cause problems? One problem that I foresee is locking the true MUD folder so that others can't access it. But I think this is a solvable OS issue. Another is providing an automatically syncing copy for use by a Powerbook when away from the local network. -- To unsubscribe: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> archives: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.letterrip.com/> old-archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.boingo.com/>
