I wonder if this is related to an issue I have noticed under both X and
2004, with signatures being appended, seemingly at random, to certain
calendar events.  I'll go and edit a previously existing event, and to my
surprise I'll see my signature in the notes area.  I'll erase it, but when I
re-open it the signature is there again.

I have never used invitations.
