You open the Task associated with the reminder; that, in turn, has a Links
menu that takes you to any messages, calendar events, memos, or whatever
else you may have linked to the task.

I, too, have used them a lot. I have a daily mailing thing that I started.
Usually, someone else is doing the mailings now, but when she goes on
vacation, I have to take over. Because of time zone differences (I'm on the
west coast), the mailings need to go out at 4 AM my time. I'm not up at that
time. So the night before, I schedule a message with Postpone Delayed Send
to go at 4 AM the next day, and off I go to bed. I have the Bring Up
Postponed script set with a Schedule to run once an hour, so, at four, while
I sleep, the mailing gets done. Slick! I also have used it to mail meeting
reminders.
