If you are using IMAP, the actual mail files/folders are on the mail server and what you have on your machine are local copies. In this case, syncing does not make that much sense. What is better is to find a email client for the Palm that can handle IMAP. That way you can read your mail on the Palm using the same mail server and it will create local copies of the files/folders as they are accessed.
