If you want to avoid haxies, there may be another way. The very first
time you launch Entourage a dialog comes up asking if you want to make
Entourage your default email client. I think she probably said No. There
must be a way to remove a pref to simulate "first use" again.

Netscape used to very stubborn in overriding system settings and may
still be the same way.
