Someone thought it was that the server was sending back an extra CRLF, which is supposedly allowed in the spec, but Entourage couldn't handle it. As for the "gets a better server" comment -- I work for a big company, and they believe they already have a "better server" and that it's the scrappy Macs that have the problems! It's sad that our platform has to conform to and exceed the status quo just to stay alive, but that's business. > Just a few days ago in the thread "Can't send mail", Bryan Harris said: > >> Office 2004 broke the capability to work with Lotus Domino servers, which >> are typically used in office environments, but it works fine with POP/SMTP >> servers. > > No one from MS came in on it, and I've forgotten the exact way how it > happened, but it's something along the lines of what I say in the first > paragraph above. > > [stuff cut out] > > We should get something about the Lotus Domino server on the Entourage FAQ > site, as soon as we have a more definitive formulation. > > Bryan, where did you get that info? I got it from the newsgroup -- I thought Barry had posted something about it, but I can't seem to find it now. I'm surprised you don't have connections there, isn't that what being an MVP is good for? I got the impression from poking through the threads that the developers know all about it and that the call-center people even have information on it. I often wonder why the developers don't just pipe in here and say "Yeah, we screwed that up and it'll be fixed in the next go 'round." If they need a connection with someone who has client access to a Domino server, let me know. - B -- To unsubscribe: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> archives: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.letterrip.com/> old-archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.boingo.com/>
