In your own reply, you probably have plain text if your Reply prefs do NOT have "Reply to messages in the format they were sent" checked (and your default mail format is Plain Text). The full source for Eddie's original is "multipart/alternative" and has both plain text and HTML versions. The plain text part comes first. Scroll through it to get to the HTML part.
