So...use categories... Import one country’s holidays, do a search for those holidays (in any one of several ways), and assign them a category.
They already have a country category, it's just listed second to the generic Holiday category. You can still filter on the country category with the QuickFilter, Advanced Find and Custom Views. To make them "stand out" with the country holiday color, you just need to make that category primary as I described in my last post.
