I agree with everything you've said and it doesn't work.  I would consider
my level of knowledge with mailmerge to be expert and I've tried everything,
it doesn't work.  Same results on my iBook.  My datafile is an Excel
spreadsheet.  I've tried creating new mailmerges from scratch and the same
result.  I've tried un-attaching the data source and re-attaching, same
result.  Edit Data Source has NEVER been available in this version.  They
all work on a PC with the Word XP, Word 2000.

I believe it may have worked in Word X, but can't remember.
